Be the boss of your brain.

Yoga for Strength, Flexibility and Mental Health

Mindful movement incorporating stretching, strengthening, breath work and relaxation.

The word “Yoga” means different things to different people. To some it’s largely spiritual, to others it’s largely physical and to other’s it’s about relaxation.

Heather came to Yoga through fitness, so practices are designed with an understanding and priority of stretching and strengthening all the muscle groups in the body.

Yoga is also a wonderful practice to quiet the mind in order to  listen to the body, practice mindfulness and balance difficult moods such as feeling anxious or blue.

Heather’s approach to Yoga has shifted from being primarily about joint and muscle health to being primarily about intellectual and emotional health with the added benefits of physical health.

Approach

Safe, effective, results oriented practices, offered with a loving sense of humor.

We will work on safe and effective strategies to stretch and strengthen muscles and joints, release stress and “be the boss of your brain” choosing when to think about what.

With particularly interest in how yoga interacts with neurology and mood, we can all use Yoga to benefit our mental and physical wellbeing—no matter how flexible or inflexible our bodies are.

Heather works with all levels of Yoga experience and particularly enjoys private practice with beginners or people who think “I’m no good at this” because they have stiff muscles or joints.

Group practices are entirely non-competitive as everyone is encouraged to focus on their own needs as we practice in our community, together.
